PRIVATE HOTEL DESTROYED;) Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, May 20. The Glasgow Coffee Palace, a private hotel in Manchester street, was destroyed by fire early this evening. It was a two-storeyed building of fourteen rooms. The first floor and ground floor were used as a restaurant. Tiio firo originated near the bathroom, and when the brigade arrived the llamas had gained a solid hold on the wooden framework. The blaze was extinguished very promptly, but the building was practically gutted. Tho furniture and fittings were insured for £250 in the Norwich Union office, and tho tenant estimates his loss at £IOO.
