He expects to be able to complete both reports before returning to Canada. The work will, how ever, bo completed Under the direction of Captain Bollons and Captain Neil son, and the results of tests made along the east coast and in certain localities on the west coast will ho communicated to the Canadian expert. After a conference with the Minister for Marine, Professor Prince will proceed with his examination of the rivers and lakes of the Dominion, se) ecting for personal inspection typical waters in each district. He also- intends to discuss the commercial aspects of the fisheries with those actually engaging in the development of them. The remaining portion of his programme wall. Professor Prince expects, occupy fully the remaining three weeks of his stay in New Zealand. Ho remarked tc a pressman that, his observations had fully confirmed the opinion he had formed from literature on the subject that the fisheries _of New Zealand will assume first-class importance in the near future. After inspecting some of the more important lakes and rivers he would he able to report fully and sot forth a system of superintendence for the preservation and expansion of the fishery resources.
