At the Royal Geographical Society’s dinner, Mr Douglas Freshfield, the president, described Dr Mawson’s journey, from a scientific standpoint, as the most fruitful of all Antarctic expeditions. Dr Mawson responded to the toast of “Our Guest.” He said that finance was the real trouble of these expeditions. He hoped to give a precise account of his journey on June 9th. Tho accounts hitherto published in London had been meagre.
