Sir ; —In reference to the letter forwarded bv Mr Len McKenzie to the Chamber of Commerce urging that body to combat the statement frequently made that living is more expensive in Wellington than in any other city, I would be very pleased if Mr McKenzie would publicly state the figures in support of his contention. According to statistics compiled by the Department -of Labour rents alone are very much in excess of any other city in New Zealand. According to the last return the comparisons are as
