WANGANUI TRACK NOTES

Special to the “Times.” WANGANUI, May 18. It was a fine morning for training operations, but most of the work dona was from half to throe-quartor-pace.

Borcoka and Cornelian were the first to work, putting in a strong working gallop.

After breakfast Bertrada ran a mile, being picked up by Firing Line over the last six furlongs, and the latter was first home. Bertrada left the last seven furlongs behind in Imin 32sec. Gondolier, with A. Gordon in tho saddle, went ever tho big fences at thrcc-quarter-pace, jumping particularly well right throughout the two circuits.

Northern and Sportsman wore associated in a spin over tho country, going twice round and jumping very cleanly, though without making pace. Sweet Brocze, Lady Forager, atid I’racfcctus hopped over u couple of

hurdles in fair style, and then did a couple of rounds oa the flat. Goldsize covered a mile and a quarter at a solid pace, moving very attractively. Royal Medal went two rounds over the schooling hurdles, jumping well. Korihiko, Square Dead, Wild Lupin, Riro Atu, Gladiole, and several others did useful work. John AVillie has been purchased by a local sportsman.
