Natal to-day has over 1200 miles of railway, giving a proportion of-' one mile of railway to every 30' square miles of territory. The new deviation* now in course of construction will have the effect of reducing tho journey from Dachau Id Johannesburg fxout twenty-four hours to fifteen.
