ALLEGATION of slavery. 8y Telegraph—Frees Association— Copyright MELBOURNE, May 16. In the Federal House of Representatives, in reply to questions, the Minister for External Affairs stated that inquiries iwere proceeding with regard to alleged slavery in connection with the recruiting of natives in ‘Papua. One magist rate had been found guilty of misconduct. The Minister added that strong action was boing taken to prevent the continuance of any ill-treatment of the natives. , _■
