RAILWAY FIREMAN KILLED
TWO ENGINES COLLIDE.' “ Press Association. DUNEDIN,! May 16. Two engines collided in the railway yards last night about 11 o’clock-. One. travelling backwards was _ going tc the sheds; tho other, moving ahead, was proceeding to the .platform. The tender of the first engine hit tho corner of the second engine, 'which was a small one. crushing the tender in against the firebox and boiler and terribly mutilating the fireman, David Donovan, who must hare been killed instantly. The driver escaped injury. It is not clear how the accident happened. Both engines carried lights,, Donovan was u married man, with one young child.
