The suffragette, May Ansell, who yesterday damaged at the Royal Academy Herkomcr’s portrait of the Duke of Wellington, was sentenced to sis months’ imprisonment. INCITEMENT TO MALICIOUS DAMAGE. CHARGE AGAINST A PUBLISHER.
LONDON, May 13. Granville Dercw appeared in the Police Court on a charge of publishing the “Suffragette” newspaper on January 22nd last, thereby causing incitement to.- malicious damage to property. The hearing of the case was adjourned. MEDIATION IN INTERNATIONAL CONFLICTS. ''Times’* anu Sydney “Sun” Service*. ROME. May 13. The International Council of Women passed a resolution in favour of endeavouring to persuade the various Governments to adopt the principle of womens mediation in international conflicts.
