THE TANGO
AND CORSET PARADES
STUPID VULGARITY OF FEMINIST MOVEMENT. Bj Telegraph—Prcas Aesociatioa— I Cop7r>S?fct (Received March 16, 10.30 p.m.) ADELAIDE. March 16. The Rev. Mr Evans, in a sermon, severely criticised- the popularity of tango dances and corset parades. He said that the tango was the latest heresy in dancing. It was voluptuous, sensuous, amorous and familiar. He added that there seemed to be taste for amusements spiced with indecency, and for women in scanty costumes. The stupid vulgarity of the whole feminist movement was a sign of the times that morality was declining. The popularity of the tango, he said, was one of the disquieting symptoms, and the corset parade was an insult to the people of Adelaide.
