STOCK DISPLAY GOOD. Press Association. DA&NEVIRKB, February IX, The fifth annual show of the Dannevirke District A. and P. Society 'was opened to-day in glorious weather, and with a large attendance. The display of stock was one the whole, particularly good, the cattle classes being very keenly contested, Ayrshires coming in for special comment. The champions were:— Bordet Leicester llam .and Ewe —J. A. Welsh. Southdowns (ram) —P; G. L. Mackenzie; ewe, Ellis Bros. Lincolns— Ram, D. McDonald; ewe, H. Gaisford. Romneys Ram and ewe, G. E. Alleii. Jersey—Cow, H. Stratford; bull, J. Murray. Holstein —Cow, "Weraroa Experimental Farm; bull, W. I. Lovelock. Hereford—Cow, H. B. Stuckey; bull, T. H. Hunter. I’olled Angus—Cow and bull, F. Armstrong. Ayrshire—Cow, J. V. G. Slack; bull, D. Buchanan. The competitions resulted:— Best Paced Hack—M. P. Knight 1, Miss M. Barker 2, J. 'Wright 3. Maiden Hunters’ Competition—W. G. Hodge’s Belvon 1, F. A, Bank’s Chnm 2, H. Hegh’s Antarctic 3.
Men’s Driving Competition—L. C. ■Bathbone 1, W. Hobson 2. Turning—Roy Hood 1, H. F. Cobb 2.
