SENGHENYDD DISASTER

A sensation was caused at the Home Office inquiry into the Senghenydd pit explosion, when a fireman named Davies gave evidence that ho had examined the pit a few hours previously.
He admitted that ho had found explosive gas, but did not report it. Despite the Commissioner’s warning, ho added that once before he had not reported a similar discovery.
