GENERAL FORECAST FOR TO-DAY. (By Em Dominion Meteorologist.) Present indications (5 pm. yesterday) are for strong northerly winds generally, chancing shortly by wist to south, w,m squally conditions in and southward of Cook Strait; cloudy and itnseuled weather, with rain, especally southward of New Plymouth and Castlepojnt. Tho barometer has a falling tendency, but will probably rise in about twentyfour hours. (Details on shipping page.)
