KARORI BOROUGH

MEETING OP THE COUNCIL. Tho Mayor (Mr C. Cathie) presided at the fortnightly meeting of the Karori Borough Council last evening, when there were also present;—Councillors Burn Henderson, Boycs, Davies, CSmino, and Skegg. In reply to a request from the mem-, hers of the Kaxori tramways committee that a car leave the liarori Council Chambers at 7.19 p.m. on Saturdays, ■ the traffic superintendent stated that the request had been granted. In reply to a request from Mr Eastgate that the council bear the host of installing an electric light main, it was decided to state that the request could not be entertained.

Councillor Boyee drew attention to the fact that the workmen’s tickets at present issued on the trams were all marked “A.” These tickets, similarly marked, were also used the following day. The tramway board could easily be defrauded, as‘ very often the coxxductor’s clip -coincided with the one used the day previous. He suggested that the tickets should be stamped from A down to Z. This would overcome all difficulty, and at the end of twentysix days the tickets would again start from “A.” —The town clerk was instructed to write to the traffic supei’iutendent in regard to tho matter. It was resolved to restrict the speedlimit within tho borough for motoxcars and cycles to fifteen miles per hour and to erect notices at dangerous spots.
