The newspaper “ Le Matin ” bitterly bewails tho decline of the Trench mjtitrate. It shows that families with a single child are in a majority, and remarks: “A French family now consists of a dog, a piano, and a child. Monsieur plays with the dog, madamo with tho piano, and the baby is left to the care of the servants.
