Members of the executive of the Wharf Labourers’ Union state that the strike sympathisers present at Saturday’s meeting were absolutely uncontrollable, so that it was impossible to conduct the proceedings on business lines. The executive, therefore, met subsequently and passed the following resolution; —“That, in consequence of the disorderly nature of the meeting, the improper admission of unfina'ncial members and non-members of the union with the connivance of other members, and the use of violence to a properly admitted member who was ejected, the executive take the opinion of the union’s solicitor, and that, pending the receipt of such opinion, the executive postpone giving effect to the resolutions carried at such meeting.”
