PAPUAN EXPEDITION

ATTACKED BY NATIVES. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Received December 25, 6.5 p.m.) SYDNEY, December 25. A telegram received by the Minister for External Affairs from tho Lieuten-ant-Governor of Papua states that ten natives were shot in connection with the expedition led by Mr Ryan, the Resident Magistrate, from Kikori to Bamu. Passing an untraversed route, it is presumed that natives attacked the expedition.
