FORM A UNION SEVERAL CONSTABLES DECLINE DUTY. By Telecraph— Press Association —Copyrlchi (Times—Sydney 'San'’ Special Gables.) LONDON, December 21. There are signs of unrest amongst tho police. A young constable when going on duty dropped a ticket disclosing the existence of a union. it is believed the union has 500 members. At several stations constables declined duty until their conditions improved. The authorities are smoothing over the incidents, promising full consideration of the matter.

LONDON, December 21. The Commissioner of Police has notified that policemen are liuale to dismissal if they join a union or federation. , ... xnree constables, supporters of the newly-formed Metropolitan Police Union, have been transferred to other divisions.
MEETING OF THE UNION.
“TO GET RID OF CORRUPTION.”
LONDON, December 21. Hundreds of policemen, members of tho new union, mot at Trafalgar square. Tho secretary declared that 90 per cent, of the force was eager to join. Ex-Inspector Syme said that _ the union’s sole object was to got rid of corruption and tyranny.
CONSTABLE’S WAGE INADEQUATE.

A mass meeting of 1000 police was held in Trafalgar square to support the Metropolitan Police Union. Speakers declared that 05 per cent, of tho men were favourable to tho union.' A constable’s wa-go 0f.27s per week was inadequate to prevent corruption. Tyranny is being’ exercised in tho force to an extent unrealised. The public were invited to support all trade unions.
The police membership is five thousand.
