LABOURERS’ BALLOT

A WIN FOR ARBITRATION,

The election of officers in connection with the General Labourers’ Union has been concluded. It resulted as follows;—President, Mr J. M. Campbell (elected) 312 votes, Mr P. McDonnell 87: secretary, Mr M. J. Reardon (elected) 316, Mr T, P. Williams 83; treasurer, Mr James L. Nicolson (elected) 239, Mr George Fraser 110. The election was fought on tho lines of strike v. arbitration, and resulted in a win for tho latter, all the candidates who favoured arbitration being returned-
