At the breaking-up function at tho Mount Cook Girls’ School it was announced that word had been received from the Education Department that Agnes .Burbidge had been awarded the copper plaque given by the British and Foreign Sailors’ Society for the best essay by a schoolgirl in the North Island on “The Benefits Accruing to the United Kingdom and its Dominions on the one hand and to tho United States on the other from tho Treaty of Peace in 1814.” Attendance certificates and awards wore presented as follows:—Medals for full attendance (from"' the head mistress).—L.
