AUSTRALASIAN CONFERENCE. 0» Telegraph—Prcis Amoclation— Copyrletu MELBOURNE, December 19. The conference of the Public Service Associations of the Commonwealth and New Zealand has concluded. It was decided to form a grand council of the associations to deal with matters of common interest. Resolutions were carried in favour of a forty-eight hour week, advertising all vacancies for positions, and giving officers against whom adverse reports are made full opportunity of rebuttal. It was decided that tho Commonwealth and the New Zealand rules of sick pay be adopted. Other resolutions dealt with tho questions of annual and long leave, working hours, and overtime, with a view to securing uniformity. Mr J. J. Russell represented New Zealand.
