TUB CHRISTMAS MEETING. At the final meeting of the joint executive appointed by the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Council and the Wellington Centre, reports were received from the advertising, programme, and grounds sub-committees, to the effect that all details in connection with the sports meeting at Athletic Park on 26th and 27th inst. were being attended to. and the turf at the park was reported to be in firstclass order for record-breaking. The sprint events will be run between chalk, hues instead of tapes; this in accordance with the American system. Intimations were read from Messrs Keddell (hurdler), McHolrn (hammer thrower), and Mark (sprinter), stating that they would compete with the Americans at Wellington; The programme - committee reported that the local champions—A. T. Duncan, J. Wilton, D. Cushman. and P. E. Doyle —had also entered the lists. G. S. Thomas, the crack Canterbury middle distance runner, who defeated the American sprinter, G. L. Parker, over 410 yards at Lancaster Park last Saturday, and George Harvey, the Wairarapa champion polo vaultcr, were entered, and have received special invitations to compete at Wellington on Boxing Day. Messrs A. Marryatt. J. Cusack, and B. A. Guise were appointed an entertainment committee. Mr Cusack reported ttliait the Auckland Centre had urged to make special efforts to ensure the appearance at the Wellington sports of the New Zealand champion distance runner. A. W. Dormer, in" view of the fact that the team for the Australasian championship meeting will be selected immediately after the Boxing Day competitions.
