IMPORTANT HOTEL SALE

One of the largest transactions in hotel properties was completed this week by Axcssrs Dwan Bros., who have disposed 6f the freehold and furniture of the Gretna Hotel, Taihape, on account of Airs Gibbons. The purchaser, is Air Walter J. Jorgensen, late the Caledonian Hotel, Wellington. The property consists of freehold H acres in the best part of Taihape, on which is erected the well-known Gretna Hotel, a number of shops, sample rooms, public hall, etc., This wellknown hotel is considered to be one of tho leading inland hotels m the Dominion, 'it being on the borders at, the no-lioense area and King Country,, and it does a very large trade. Taihape is a most flourishing inland centre, and is increasing in population, rapidly. The amount of tho purchase runs into a big figure. The sale, which was one of the quickest on record, reflects great credit upon the agents, Messrs Dwan. Bros., for up-to-date business methods., i'he instructions were only received by/ Saturday morning’s mail, and by noon the same day the sale was practicahy. effected. Tho purchaser and Air T. Dwan left for Taihape on Sunday, night and all tho further details were completed on Alonday morning. Arrangements were made for Air Jorgensen to take possession next Alonday. This well-known firm have had thirty years’ experience and hold the record for conducting most of the big transactions in hotel sales from tho North Island to the Bluff, and are constantly engaged in transactions of valuations of freehold, furniture, or stock in all parts of the Dominion. Their business also extends to Fiji and Australia.
