ONSLOW BOROUGH AFFAIRS

Last night’s meeting of tho Onslow Borough Council was attended by the Mayor (Mr F. Holdsworth), Councillors Lynneberg, Gardner, Bowden, Hoby, Munro, Alderson and R. Nicol. Tho dog-registration fee for 1914 was fixed at ss. The tender of Mr F. Richardson, at £340 10s. for grade-improvement work on part of Victoria road was accepted. It was decided to grant keys of water meter boxes to those ratepayers who desired to have them. It was resolved to ask the Railway Department to convey passengers to Ngaio, Kaiwarra, and Johnsonville by the train leaving Wellington at 7.10 a.m. daily. Tho Postal Department is to be written to and asked to arrange for the public letter boxes at Ngaio and Khandallah to bo cleared late each afternoon in addition to tho present clearance at 9.4 a a.m.
