MEETING OF THE DISTRICT BOARD. The monthly meeting of the Wellington Education Board was held yesterday afternoon, there being present: Messrs B. Leo (chairman), A. W. Hogg, T. Moss, W. Allan,’ J. G. W. Aitken, and W. H. Field. FINANCE. The statement of finances showed a credit of £822 9s 3d on November 21st, as against a debit on October 24th of £1721 4s 7d. The receipts for November totalled £23,712 16s Bd, and the payments £10,851 10s 6d; supplementary payments amounted to £1387 7s. Receipts amounting to £9426 11s Id, included in the statement for the previous meeting, were not credited to tho bank account till November. WORKS AUTHORISED. The following works were authorised; Lansdowne, ventilation in class-room walls, metalling; Petone, ground improvements, repairs and fencing renewals; Clyde quay, top-dressing upper playground, renewals in shelter sheds, Te Whiti, well and pump (cost); Plimmerten, ground improvements (subsidy); Mangatainoka, ground improvements (subsidy); Island Bay, ground improvements (subsidy); Upper Hutt, fencing. Application is to be made for half an acre of Crown land adjoining tbo Pongaroa school, for accommodation for children’s horses. TENDERS. The following tenders were accept ed:—Ngaio, gorse grubbing, R. Aplin, £7 10s; concrete culvert, Acre No. 1065, T. Hays and A. Ross, £201; Manakau, painting school and residence, J. W. Proctor, £4O; Aluhanoa East, painting school and residence, J. W. Proctor; Oban, painting school and residence, J. W. Procter, £4O; Olareville, painting residence, A. R. Wallis, £37; Carterton, painting, repairs, etc., H. Cook, ranga, painting school, A, Newhain, £39 10s; Alfred ton, painting school, J. H. Rashleigb, £32 10i=f; Petone D.H.S., improvements to desks, Upton and Bond, 5s 8d and 8s lOd.
