DR MoARTHUR, S.M. DEATH OCCURS SUDDENLY IN HIS OFFICE. Dr Alexander McArthur, S.M., was found dead in his office at the Magistrate’s Court at a, quarter-past 12 o’clock this morning. Born in Glasgow in 1855, ho was educated in Melbourne, graduating M.A. and LL.D. For some years he followed the teaching profession in Melbourne, Adelaide, and in Auckland, having arrived in Now Zealand in 1880. Ho began the practice of the law in Auckland in 1898, and three years later was appointed Stipendiary Magistrate at Wellington.
