A BY-ELECTION
UNIONIST UNOPPOSED. By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright LONDON, July 15. Sir Alexander Henderson has been elected unopposed for the St. George’s, Hanover square, seat in the House of Commons, rendered vacant by the death of tho Right Hon. Alfred Lyttelton. [At the last General Election, Mr Lyttelton (Unionist) was returned by a majority of 3210, the polling being; —Mr Lyttelton, 4398; Mr Mackenzie Bell (Liberal), 1188. Sir Alexander Henderson (Unionist) is chairman ot the Railway Companies’ Association and chairman of the Great Central Railway. Prom 1898 to 1906 he was M.P. for West Stafford.)
