THE INDRABARAH’S CARGO

A DIFFICULTY OVERCOME. The difficulty which arose in connootiou with the discharge of the lodmbarah’s cargo of frozen meat was solved at a meeting yosterohy of the Harbour Board’s wharves and accounts committee by the adoption of a suggestion made by the harbour-master. JL'he committee received a deputation representing the parties interested in the vessel’s cargo, who protsted against the refusal of the harbour-master to allow the Indraharah and another Tyser boat to lie at the wharf side by side while the meat cargo was transferred from one to the other. Captain Johnson also stated his reasons for refusing the request. The committee carried a motion expressing confidence in Captain Johnson’s judgment and upholding his decision.

The harbour-master then suggested that the vessels should berth on opposite sides of the Railway Wharf and that the meat should be transferred from one to another across the wharf by means of the hydraulic cranes, This, he pointed out, would obviate the second handling to which tha shipping company so strongly objected. The suggestion was adopted, and will he carried out as soon as possible. The chairman, Mr R. Fletcher, Informed a “Times” representative last night that the board will give th* company every possible facility for transferring the meat in view of th* special circumstances of the case. The Indraharah will go alongside the Boilway Wharf this morning and tha Makarini will berth opposite to her as soon as she has discharged 600 ton# of cargo at the King’s Wharf.
