A PRETTY WEDDING

An exceptionally pretty wedding took place at St. ’Paul’s’ Pro-Cathedral on Tuesday afternoon._ The guests were few, being the immediate relations, but the church was filled with friends ot the bride, Miss Dora Perkins, who from her childhood has been a great favourite with all who know her. Dr Perkins entered the church with his daughter, and gave her away. The bridegroom, Mr Lionel Hitchings, of Gisborne, was attended by the Rev. McMacShane as best man and Mr Johnston as groomsman. The ceremony was performed by Archdeacon Harper and the vicar of St. Paul’s. Dr Kington Fyffe was organist. The bridal gown was very beautiful—of ivory satin draped with lace caught with roses ot ninon; from the shoulders fell a train of exquisite lace draped over rose pink chiffon. This was carried by two little children, relations of the bridegroom. Miss Hitchings and Miss Joan Perkins were bridesmaids. Their frocks of sky blue satin were veiled with marquisette the same shade. A spray of pink roses adorned the skirts, and the hats of blue tulle and straw had crowns of pink and blue brocade softly finished with ribbon. Beautiful flowers wore_ carried. The bride’s bouquet was almost entirely of fresias, and her maids’ were composed of pink flowers. Mrs Perkips wore a very becoming dress of red charmeuse, softened with black. Her hat also was of these colours, and a bouquet of red Jamieson daisies was carried.

Mrs Hitchings ■wore a gown of oyster satin veiled with fine black lace and a black hat with plumes; Mrs Lancelot Hitchings, white with furs and shaded gink plume in her hat; Miss Maud [itchmgs, ivory crepe-de-chine with cherry satin sash and largo hat ;her sister also woro a gown of ivory crepe ; Mrs Harper, tailor-made gown; Miss Payne, wedgewood blue cashmere handsomely braided, end black furs; Mrs Bowerbank, mauve cloth dress and hat .the same shade; Mrs Fritz Kemp, navy tailor-made and hat with blue feathers; Mrs J. Kemp, pretty gown of soft blue silk with violet belt aim large hat with pnrple feathers; Mrs Walter Hislop, Mrs Rawnslev. Mrs Pronse, Mrs and the Misses Webster,

Mr and Mrs Janisch, Miss Ewart, and Miss Farrer wore also guests.

A reception was afterwards held at the bride’s home. Dr and Mrs Perkins received in the hall, Mr and Mrs Lionel Hitchings in the drawing-room. The only speech made was a capital one by the bridegroom. The bride's goTtij;away dress was of wine coloured silk poplin, worn with a handsome fur coat and large hat trimmed with brocade’ crown t and soft tulle frilling. Mr and Mrs Lionel Hitchings left by the afternoon train for Palmerston on route for the DorUh.
