MINING DEPUTATION TO PREMIER. ' Press Association. AUCKLAND, May 4. A number of members of the board of management of the Thames Deep Levels waited upon the Prime. Minister yesterday afternoon to urge the granting of a further Government subsidy for the completion of the main cross-cut at 1000 feet. . In the absence of the chairman, Mr C. Hudson pointed out to the Premier that the Government had, so far, subscribed ,£6OOO and the companies .£13,000 The intersection of the Moana-Taiari slide meant an extra expenditure of some .£3600, as the tunnel had to be deviated. They asked that the Government should grant half that amount. Mr Massey promised to refer the matter to his colleague the Minister of Mines.
