HEAVY FINES IMPOSED. LONDON, February 25. pile management committee of the Northern Football League has decided to warn players that it is determined to suppress betting. Northey Smith, a bookmaker, of Edinburgh, was fined £IOO, in default two months’ imprisonment, for football coupon betting competitions, and William Hodgson was similarly fined for the same offence.
