SATURDAY HALF-HOLIDAY
ADVOCATED IN WANGANUI. Press Association. WANGANUI, February 26. Local shop assistants had a large and enthusiastic meeting in favour ol the Saturday half-holiday for Wanganui. A representative from the emplpyers’ committee explained tho movement and the general desire for Saturday, and said it rested with the employees to assist in the movement, seeing that the holiday was intended for their benefit. Several employers spoke about the benefits of the Saturday holiday, especially in sports and military matters. A strong committee was termed to carry forward the movement. An energetic lady canvasser was secured to assist, and the petition for a poll has already the required number of names.
