From Our Own Correspondent., February 26. The quarterly summoned meeting of the Utald Druids’ Lodge was held last evening, Bro. Alt. Knox, A.D., presiding. It was decided to hold a euchre tournament in a fortnight’s time between members of the lodge, two trophies, one value 10s 6d and the other Vs 6d being offered for competition. The following players will, represent the Otaki Lawn Tennis Club in a. match with Parsparaumu on the local courts on Saturday next: —Pirimi, Penn, King! Tahiwi, Rapley, Pike, Speirs, Mrs Davies, Mrs A. Bright, Miss Brown, Mrs Bacchus; emergencies, Hatch and Mann and Misses Barber and Robieson.. • Mr N. Kirkcaldie, of Levin, has donated £5 towards the funds of the Horowhenua Agricultural and Pastoral Association, an act that is much appreciated. A rink of Levin bowlers, comprising Grover, Mclntyre, Jamieson, and Wilson (s) visited Shannon on Saturday, and played a match Mr the Kinniburgh feathers, winning the trophies from the holders, Stephenson, Mitchell, Roach, and Knowles (s) by 24 to 20. Mr B. B. Gardiner, Mayor of Levin, has declined nomination for the position of chairmanship of the Lake Domain Board. Playing for ladder position at the local courts on Monday evening, the Rev. Smith defeated Firimi. after ft good contest, by 9—7. S. W. Rapley also beat A. O. Pike (challenger), 9—3.
