FINAL GALLOPS AT WANGANUI

Press Association. - WANGANUI, February 26. There was splendid weather and the tracks were excellent for the final gallops. , Autumnns galloped half a >mile in Msec. Obligant and Mira covered seven furlongs, finishing together. Masterpiece was given three-quarter pace work. Dearest covered five furlongs in X min 3isec, and Gladiole and iviakara also went five, the former finishing Well in front in Imin 3sec. Moirette and Hansard went half a mile in 62sec. Jason covered the last five of six furlongs in Imin sseo easily. Moutoa Girl beat .Crown. Pearl by half a length pver six furlongs in 1 min 16seo. . Ventura galloped half a mile in 51 sec, Styx and Stepney taking 62seo to do the same distance. Imagination and Distinction went six furlongs in Imin 17sec. Bronze (Oliver), Labour Day (L. Wilson), and Cheddar (Tricklebank) were associated in a mile and a quarter spin. The. first six furlongs took Imin 19beo, the mile Imin 47sec, and the full distance 2min 15 i3-ssec. Bronze and Cheddar finished together, a length ahead of Labour Day. The latter covered most ground. Tiresome was sent two circuits at half pace. - Knutsford went six furlongs fast, and Merry Frank and Peronilla the -name distance separately. Postillion galloped five furlongs, and Tiwari and Austin went six furlongs in Imin 21sec. Domino, Composed, Muleteer, Nukuatu, Culprit, and a number of others were given three-quarter pace exercise. After breakfast Denise Ortne and Eocene went four furlongs in 52sec, the latter having a little the best. Phroso and North East did good strong work. ■ Red Lupin went four furlongs m 52sec, and Sandy Paul six furlongs in Imin 21soc. White Crane, Serenity, and others were given easy pacing exercise. Dustin’s, Ltd., the well-known caterers, of Palmerston and Wanganui, have been'appointed caterers at the Wanganui races. Patrons are thus assured of the best. •
