SWIFTS CLUB, A 220yds handicap decided under the auspices of the Swifts Club at Te Arc Baths last evening, resulted as follows: F. B. Jones (lOSseo) 1, E. Vango (SSsec) 2, R. Newman (Iseo) 3. Also started —E. Donovan (83sec). J. Smith (30sec), W. E. Morpeth (27sec), T. Woodcock (27eec). H. E. Johnston (21sec), G. Hampson (13sec>, K. Russell (13sec), W. Wilton (XlseoJ, B. O’Neill (sor). Time, 4min 36 3-ssec. LADIES’ CARNIVAL. The carnival of the Swifts ladies’ Club, to be held at the Te Aro Ladies' Baths on Saturday next, promises to be highly successful. Included in the programme are the schoolboys’ and schoolgirls’ championships, in both of which good racing should be seen. The handicaps, also, should provide interesting racing. Mr T. Shields will be at Te Aro Baths to-dpy from 3 to 4 p.m. for boys, and from 4 to 5.30 pm. for girls, to teach swimming, and to pass them for proficiency certificates.
