LAND BALLOT
•ON THE MAIN TRUNK LINE. The Commissioner of Crown Lands, Mr T. N. Brodrick, assisted by Messrs Dawson and McLennan, members of the Wellington Land Board, held a-bal-lot for twenty-tcreo sections at Tanmarunni on Saturday. There ware In all 365 individual applicants, each of whom had put in several applications; these totalled 1651, giving an average of 4} applications to each candidate. Of the total number of applications, 1169 were accorded preference, the remaining 382 not coming within the ‘conditions. The following is the result of the drawing: Block V., Hnnua S.D. (Kakahi Township): Section 31, la 2r 20p, S. E.
