February 23. Mr and Mrs Addenbrooke left on Wednesday for Wellington, en rente for England. Mias Cook (Christchurch) is visiting her sister, Mrs W. H. Moyes. Dr A. K. Newman, M.P., and Mr Martin Chapman are staying at the Mountain Hostelry. Miss M. C. Terry (New Plymouth) has passed the first section of the degree for Bachelor of Science. ' Mrs- T. Prichard returns to Dannevirke this week. Mr and Mrs George Fox and Hiss Evelyn Fox leave shortly for a long visit to England and Europe. Mrs E. Griffiths gave a "farewell" afternoon tea on Monday for Mrs. Addenbrooko. Mrs B. D. Colson leaves this week for a visit to Auckland. Miss Chambers returns to Auckland this week. Mrs E. Griffiths has gone to Auckland and Hamilton for a visit. Mrs Newton King gave a bridge party at "Brooklands" on Thursday evening, for her daughter, Mrs Sidney Allen (Dunedin). Mrs Prichard (Dannevirke) won the ladies’ prize, and Mr K. Matthews the gentlemen’s. Miss Blundell gave an enjoyable bridge
party on Friday evening for Mrs Sidney Allen and Mrs Prichard. • On Friday evening Mrs Fltzherbert gave a small bridge party, at which Mrs Courtney and Mrs Mills were the prize winners. Others present were—Mrs Paul, Mrs Percy Webster, Mrs Heard. Miss Testar, Mrs Russell, Miss Browne. Mrs W. Bayly, Miss B. Bayly and Miss A. Hempton. ~, “Get-rich-quick Wallingford was performed last night at the Theatre Royal before a crowded house. Among the large audience were: Mrs Wylie, Mr and Mrs Halcombe (Urenui), Mr and Mrs Burgees, Mrs Russell, Miss C. liayly, Mr and Miss Taylor, Mrs Paul, Mrs Percy Webster, Mrs Clem Webster. Mr and Mrs Claude Weston, Mr and Mrs Nolan, Misses Capel (2), Mrs and Miss Fookes, Archdeacon and Mrs Evans, Miss Evans, Miss D. Bedford, Miss Colville, Mr anti Mrs Lysons,.
