TAXI-CAB TARIFF
Press Association. AUCKLAND, February 24. A deputation representing the taxicab owners and drivers of Auckland this morning waited upon the finance committee of the Auckland City Council to urge tho revision of tho tariff fixed by the city by-laws. The matter was fully inquired into by the finance committee, and ultimately the deputation was asked to formally submit the full programme of the amendments they desired to have made in the regulation charges. - Tho chairman informed the deputation that the council would probably require the installation of taximeters. Most of the taxi-cab proprietors present stated their objection to this proposal, and said the introduction of taximeters was regarded as unsatisfactory.
