(Received January 16, 0.6 a.m.) LONDON, January 15. The wool sales havo opened. There is a very firm tone. 50C8 bales of Australian, 1821 of New Zealand,- and 180 of South African were offered.

There was a fairly representative selection, and a 'largo attendance from, all quarters. There was splendid comjietition. Alcrinos were five per cent, higher, and crossbreds were slightly in sellers’ favour.
