FALL OF USKUB.
REGARDED AS MOST IMPORTANT EVENT. LONDON, October 2S. Owing to its historical association, the capture of Uskub lias apxxialed to the popular imagination in , Serna much more than have all the other hard-won victories of the war. King Peter has issued a proclamation liberating and repatriating all prisoners, both Turks and Albanians. Tho Sofia, correspondent of “The Times ” says tho moral effect of the capture of Uskub will probably exceed that of KirkACilisseh.
Belgrade telegrams report that -when tho Servians approached Uskub the Turkish authorities and police fled, and bnshi-bazouks (irresponsible volunteer Turks, largely addicted to lawlessness, rapine, and plunder) commenced to pillage the town. The Consuls thereupon invited tho Servians to enter. The latter seized 600 waggons containing supplies. Neighboring towns aro surrendering. SERBS AND BULGARS AT ISHTIB. BELGRADE, October 2S. Jt la officially stated that tho Turkish army retreating from Uskub towards Tetovo has surrendered to tho Servian cavalry. The latter captured a further 123 guns. Tho Servian vanguard has reached lahtib, already in the hands of tho Bulgarians. Fifteen guns were taken by the Servians at Mitrovitza, and one hundred and thirteen at Uskub. During tho campaign the Allies have captured 310 guns. Three divisions of Turks, routed southwards of Kumanovo, retreated in disorder.
LONDON, October 28. Reuter’s Agency states that the Servians have captured Morovita.
