BRITISH NOBLES LAND IN CHICAGO
The Duke and Dnchess of Sutherland are at the Blaokstone Hotel (says the ‘‘Chicago World”). With them is their son and daughter. Lord Alasair Levison and Lady Rosemary Levison Gower. At the Blaokstone is also Sir George Dougherty and Lady Dougherty, and this largo section of Burke’s peerage all arrived m a bunch, which accounted for tho earth a tremble. - ... . All of the trust papers interviewed them—or said they did.- The fact is "their nobilities" refused to be interviewed by any reporters and any reporter who says he interviewed them is a —plain reporter. - . ; The Duke of Sutherland is somewhat of an aristocrat. He is the richest noble in England, although he never worked a day in his life or earned an honest dollar. . Nevertheless the duke -. has nothing against the ‘‘working clawses." ,He is -convinced that they are necessary ,to his well-being and comfort. - He -owns .millions of acres of land in Canada for which he never paid, anything. Just now he is busy inducing immigrants to locate on hia land and . work for him for nothing and board themselves. He is meeting with considerable success as there are many who are proud to have a real duke for their master.
