IN THE WEST
BULGARIANS ONLY NINETY MILES FROM SALONICA. LONDON. October 27. The Bulgarians have occupied lahtib, forty miles south-east of Uskub and ninety miles north of Salonica town. They were unopposed. Bulgarians operating in. the Bregalniiza Valley, about thirty-seven miles west of Uskub, had a sanguinary encounter with the Turks. They captured Koohana, together with one hundred prisoners, a battery of field artillery, a mountain battery, and quantities of ammunition. The population of the Djumai Bala district, five miles from the Bulgarian border, are in full revolt against the Turks. Bulgarian bands have been greatly strengthened. They are well equipped. The .peasants have sent their cattle to Bulgaria, and this.. combined with the ruined corn crops, will prevent the Turks capturing the roving bonds. Professor Clairmonfs Austrian ambulance section has arrived. It consists of five well-known doctors, including two military, and fourteen nurses.

The Servian Legation announces that 500 Amauta (Albanians) and Turks ui Kumanova were bayoneted for attacking a detachment sent to receive their surrender after tho white flag had been hoisted. SERBS AND MONTENEGRINS JOIN FORCES. LONDON, October 27. The Montenegrin force under General Vukovics has effected a junction with the Servians at Sienitza. ADVANCING ON EPBK. (Received October 29, 0.45 a.m.) CETTINJE, October 38. General Vukovics captured some strongly fortified heights at Rojaz, dominating the approach to Ipek, and has continued his advance on the town.
