COMPENSATION FOE STATE EMPLOYEES.
MELBOURNE, October 25,
Mr Fisher, Prime Minister and Treasurer, asked the House of Representatives for an appropriation of £5,000,000 for an old-age pensions trust fund. After discussion tho amount was reduced to £3,000,000, and the Bill passed through committee. A Bill to provide for compensation in tho case of accident to or death of workmen in the Commonwealth’s employ was introduced. The maximum payment in case of death is fixed at £SOO.
