SWIMMING
THE WELLINGTON CLUB
Tho annual meeting of the Wellington Swimming Club was held last evening, Mr G. S. Hill (vice-president) presiding. Tho report and balance-sheet (which showed that though the season was a poor one the affairs of the chib had been fairly prosperous) wore adopted. . Twelve new members were elected. The following officers wero elected: President, Mr D. K. Blair; vice-presi-dents, Sir Robert Stout, Hon. J. Bigg, M.L.C., Hon. A. L. Herdman, Drs Newman, M.P., and Chappie, and Messrs G. S. Hill, O. E. Odiin, H. A. Anderson, G. Wilkes, G. Winder, A. R. Atkinson, J. G. W. Aitken, J. F. Atkins, T. ‘Ronayne, R. C. Renner, J. P. Maxwell, A. H. Turnbull, O. D. Morpeth, and F. C. Pope; captain, Mr R. J. Griramett; secretary, Mr K. Russell; treasurer, Mr W. M. Blair; vice-captain, Mr S. A. Murrell; executive committee, Messrs Ellis, Stratford, Collier, Crowther, and Hanna; delegates to Wellington centre, Messrs Shields and Blair; handicapper, Mr W. G. Morpeth; starter, Mr O. A. Jacobs; check starter, Mr R. O’Flarity. Tho proposal of the Wellington centre to make a levy of sixpence per club member towards the Olympic fund was objected to.
