MINISTER OF PUBLIC WORKS TO BE WAITED ON.

At a special meeting of the Napier Chamber of Commerce this afternoon, a deputation consisting of the Hon. J. D. Ormond (chairman of th® Rivers Board), T. Mason Chambers (county chairman), J. Vigor Brown, M.P. (Mayor), and C. Ellison (representing the Harbor Board, Chamber of Commerce, and East Coast Railway League) was appointed to interview the Minister of Public Works in connection with stopping work on tho East Coast railway and endeavor to get a sum placed on tho Estimates for tho construction of an embankment and bridge over tho inner harbor for the railway. Delegates from Wairoa and Gisborne are to bo asked to join the deputation.
