WEDDING
At St. Andrew’s Church last Wednesday, Detective Cameron, of this city, was married to Miss Ada Luke, youngest daughter of Mr John Luke, of Petone. The Rev. Mr Gibson Smith officiated at the ceremony. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a cream cloth gown, trimmed with silk lace and cording, a tulle veil over a wreath of orange blossoms. She carried a bouquet of cream roses and maidenhair fern. Her bridesmaids were the Misses Walker, King and Foley (nieces of the bride). The first wore a froqk of pale old rose silk, with grey trimming, and a cream hat with long ostrich plume. The two younger bridesmaids were in cream silk dresses and hats to match, and carried baskets of cream roses and white lilac. Mr Sleeth attended the bridegroom as .best man. The bride’s present from the bridegroom was an emerald and diamond ring. and the bridesmaids received emerald and pearl brooches.
After the ceremony the many guests were received by the bride's parents it the Masonic Hall, and later in the day Mr and Mrs Cameron loft for a tour of the South Island, to include a visit to the lakes. The bride’s goingaway gown was of navy blue cloth worn with a black plumed hat. Among the many presents was a marble clock, presenter! to the bridegroom by the Lambton police staff.
