These facts were attributable to burdensome legislation, extravagance of the Governments, and the extreme demands mado by the more Socialistic union leaders. He predicted financial disaster. Tlie Presbyterian General Assembly, on the suggestion of Mr Fisher, appointed a committee to report on the causes of the apparent antagonism between employers and employed.
