Some time ago a complete cast of an animal's head was nnearthed at the Milburn lime quarry. This was shown to Dr Marshall (professor of geology at the Otago University) and his party of students while they were making their annual geological tour last week, and was pronounced to be that of a whale (reports the "Bruce Herald"). The specimen has since been conveyed to Dunedin, where it .will be placed on exhibition at the Otago Museum. On several previous occasions discoveries have been made at Milburn quarries, notably sharks' teeth and a skeleton, which would tend to prove that at least that portion of the Dominion was covered by the sea.
