Holm's steamer John arrived at Wellington yesterday morning from Gisborne, and Is to sail to-day for Greymoath. The Kaitangata arrived at Greymoath at 5 a.m. yeeterday from Port Chalmers, and leaves the fotmor port on Wednesday night for Sydney. The Kaituna was expected to get away from Greymoath at midnight last night for Melbourne. The Flora arrived at Greymonth at 1 a.m. yesterday and proceeds thence to Bluff. Mr Halley, late of the Union Company’s shore staff, has resumed his position as chief steward of the Maori, in place ot Mr 0. Fleming, who transfers to the Mararoa. 1

The Oreymouth Harbor Board anticipate no further danger from the Kotuku wreckage, which has apparently been washed oat to sea. The bar has been dragged, and no signs of the wreckage were found. The auxiliary scow Echo arrived at Mokan at noon yesterday from New Plymouth and. according to a telegram received yesterday, will probably sail on Monday for Wellington. The Navna left Westport at 1 a.m. yesterday for Lyttelton and Dunedin. tfhe Taviunl left Westport at 9 o’clock last night for Bluff and Dunedin.

On July 18th the New Zealand Shipping Company’s steamer Rakaia sailed from Cardiff for Montreal, where she will load for Australian and New Zealand ports. The Rakaia has been delayed bv strikes at Home, and consequently was unable to take the July loading berth. The Mapourika arrived at Westport at 3 a.m. yesterday from Oreymouth, and sailed at 10 a.m. for Nelson. She is to leave Nelson at 7 o'clock this morning for Wellington, and is due here abont 4.30p.m. to-day. When the Te Anau arrives at Wellington next Tuesday from Dunedin and Lyttelton she will lay up at this port. Mr Pirrie at present acting second engineer of the Whangape. is to transfer to the Waiteinata, In place of Mr Doolan, who is going to Melbourne. The lonic will arrive at,-Wellington this morning from Lyttelton to complete Homeward loading. She will leave here next Thursday for Plymouth and London via ports.
