UNIFORM EMPIRE PRACTICE NOT ATTAINABLE. (Received August 2, 10.40 p.m.) LONDON, August 2. In the House of Commons yesterday Mr—Asquith, Prime _ Minister, replying to a question arising out of the Privy Council decision in the No Tomere case in Canada, said the'difficulties attending the suggestion for a uniform marriage law applicable to the whole Empire were so great that he feared he would he unable to institute inquiries with a view of gaining the adhesion of tho self-governing dominions to such a law.
